QuadChroma - Proprietary Software Notice

Copyright (c) 2026 Robert Brandt (hello@quadchroma.tech,
https://quadchroma.tech). All rights reserved.

QuadChroma is proprietary software. It is not open source and not
source-available. No licence to use, copy, modify, merge, publish,
distribute, sublicense or sell this software or any copy of it, and no other
right, is granted by possession of these files or of a copy of the program.

There is no free version. Using QuadChroma as a host (sharing a computer)
requires a valid licence or the time-limited trial, activated through the
QuadChroma licence server; there is no free use for private or any other
purposes. Connecting to another computer as a client needs no licence.

The binding terms of use are the QuadChroma Licence Terms ("Lizenzbedingungen").
They are shown in the app before first use and are published on the website:

  English: https://quadchroma.tech/terms/
  Deutsch: https://quadchroma.tech/de/lizenzbedingungen/

By installing or using QuadChroma you accept those terms. If you do not
accept them, do not install or use the software.

Third-party components distributed with QuadChroma (for example FFmpeg and
the Sparkle update framework) remain under their own licences. Those licences
grant you rights only in those components, not in QuadChroma itself, and are
collected in THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt.

Trade secrets and reverse engineering: QuadChroma contains trade secrets of
the licensor. Except where mandatory law (in Germany sections 69d(3) and 69e
of the Copyright Act) permits it, you may not reverse engineer, decompile or
disassemble the software; see the Licence Terms. As section 6 of the LGPL 2.1
requires for the FFmpeg libraries in the Windows version, you may
nevertheless modify those libraries for your own use, replace them with
modified versions, and reverse engineer QuadChroma to the extent necessary
to debug such modifications.

Patents: QuadChroma grants no patent licences for video formats such as
H.264, HEVC or AV1. Video is encoded and decoded by the operating system,
the graphics driver or, in the Windows version, the included FFmpeg
libraries (see THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.txt).
